Internet Traffic Management Practices

MNSi does not currently enforce any ITMP but we may at our discretion if network performance is degraded.

Why?

The use of P2P software may cause congestion, affecting the performance of real-time applications such as web browsing, streaming video, and direct downloads.

What type of traffic would be subject to management?

Peer-2-Peer (P2P) file-sharing programs, such as Bit-torrent. These applications are considered less time-sensitive than video streaming or direct file transfers.
