Dr. Alfred S. Shadd was the last principal of the Woodstock Institute before desegregation.  George Gant attended the Wilberforce School located on King St. beside the A.M.E. Church.  (currently St. Vincent de Paul Store). The bedstead pictured here was built by George Gant.
