A CHRISTMAS BLESSING <<-- CLICK TITLE TO DOWNLOAD PLAY

Story Summary:  Four friends are at a toy store looking for a special toy for one character's little brother.  Hear the fun as they try to come to a decision of whether to steal or not.  

Christian Message:  Hear how positive behaviour can be brought about through the discovery of God's love.

Type:  comedy

Number of Characters:  six plus singing voices

Number of Scenes:  one

Number of Acts: one

Stage Entrances: one

Hymns:  first verse of "Joy To The World"

Props: yes, a list is included in printed play

Approximate Length:  three minutes, plus singing time

Notes:  This is a very short play, and as such there is not enough time for the audience to get to know the characters, therefore names have not been assigned.

A SURPISE CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR HELGA <<-- CLICK TITLE TO DOWNLOAD PLAY

Story Summary:  Helga, a character no one wants to associate with, for her acid tongue turns many off.  However, one woman has decided to try God's love in an attempt to live at peace with Helga.  She wants to give a surprise Christmas party for Helga; but her friends can't understand why.  Discover the result in this comical play.

Christian Message:  God loves each person.  Due to our sin, we owe a debt to Jesus for saving us from our sins.  We help repay that by loving everyone, family, friends, enemies, and difficult people alike.  This situation takes place at Christmas - celebrating and rejoicing in the joy of the miracle of the birth of Jesus.

Notes: 
- an easy play that uses comedy to demonstrate how we can learn to love others
- although this play is written for five older ladies, the characters may be played by younger people and still have the desired affect

Story Summary:  The Stanton family is a regular family with a credit card but also have some interesting ways of spending.  Christmas is on the way and many things are happening which involve the use of the credit card.  Join the laughs as the Stanton family encounters Christmas on credit!

Christian Message:  God loves us all, we need to be thankful to Him for the things we have.  We need to remember that Christmas is a celebration of Jesus' birth.  We also need to be aware of God's miraculous provisions in times of need.

Type:  comedy

Number of Characters:  minimum of thirteen, more is helpful

Number of Scenes:  one

Number of Acts: seven

Stage Entrances: two, but can be performed with only one

Notes:
- This production may take extra time but it has been known to have great comical rewards for those who put the effort into it.
- Timing is essential in this play but with the practice of silent counting to three, it can be accomplished effectively and successfully.

Story Summary:  Nettie, a selfish character whose only concern is herself, meets Mabel, a woman in need on a cold Christmas Eve.  At first Nettie refuses to help, but has a change of heart after two angels assist Nettie in seeing the light.

Christian Message:  Through encouragement, a selfish character sees the light and helps another in a big way!

Character Costumes:  winter wear, etc.

Notes:   This a play that rewards the audience with an insight into what is truly important.

Story Summary:  This play is based on the Biblical version of the original Christmas with a few comical additions. 

Christian Message:  God provides us with a Saviour!

Type:  comedy

Number of Characters:  a leader, 4 main characters, plus angels and shepherds (variable numbers)

Character Costumes: robes and such; wings and halos for angels

Number of Scenes:  one

Number of Acts: one

Stage Entrances: only one required

Hymns: 4

Props: a few

Approximate Length:  10 - 15 minutes, plus time for: introduction of characters; obtaining helpers; hymns; and extra sounds

Notes: 
- This story is told in such a way as to allow younger children the parts of the angels and shepherds; they have very few lines but definite and important parts in the play.
- This is a unique play in that there are opportunities for interaction from the audience, making this a highly entertaining adventure.

WHAT'S THE NEWS? <<-- CLICK TITLE TO DOWNLOAD PLAY

Story Summary:  This is the Biblical story of the circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus as retold by a news anchor and a roving reporter.  They tell the Good News of the birth of Jesus in a comical news-reporting manner.

Christian Message:  God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to save the people from their sins.

Type:  comedy

Number of Characters:  ten plus extras

Character Costumes: some dress, some robes etc.

Number of Scenes:  one with small changes during play

Number of Acts: one

Stage Entrances: only one required

Hymns:  4 hymns; one special song, your choice - optional

Props: a few

Approximate Length:  fifteen minutes plus singing time

Notes:  There is not as much memorization required in this play as two major parts are read.
