New Operating Award

SECC AWARD
SPECIAL EVENT CENTURY CLUB AWARD

The SECC award is issued to any amateur radio operator who has worked and confirmed contacts with 100 special event stations. For the initial award you only have to work and confirm 25 special event stations. You can upgrade the award in increments of 25 up to a total of 100 contacts. Stickers will be handed out every time you confirm the next 25 contacts. The award will be a numbered certificate.

Rules for SECC Award:

A licensed radio amateur must make all contacts.
Contacts must be made on legal amateur frequencies.
Only two-way simplex type contacts count.
No contacts on repeaters, satellites IRLP, echo link will count for this award.
Contacts are valid on or after January 1, 2006.
Contacts must be confirmed; QSL cards or special event certificates must be in the possession of the award applicant.

Instructions for applying for the SECC Award:

Download the application form and the SECC Award Check Sheet (requires MS Excel; see below)   then send the completed form and check sheet along with $5.00 and a copy of at least 10 of your qsl cards or certificates to the address at the bottom of the form. Please send $2.00 for upgrades.
I reserve the right to ask for additional copies of QSL cards or certificates to confirm contacts.

SECC AWARD

Some of you might be wondering why I have decided to sponsor an award. It is really quite simple, I like chasing awards and just about any other kind of paper. So I thought it would be neat to come up with and sponsor a new award. I am trying to hand out this award on an honour system, that’s why I am only asking for a copy of 10 of your QSL card instead of all of them.

If you want to save a little money on the postage you can email me your application form and your QSL card or certificates. That way you only have to mail me the $5.00 award fee. Please use jpeg format if you decide to email me your 10 cards.
Well, I think I’ve covered everything. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
