The Ministry of Touch: The Art of Anointing, is designed to help the person receiving to relax, to get in touch with his/her own inner wisdom and well-being. This service through touch in no way is to take the place of a doctor’s care when it is indicated. Information exchanged during any session is confidential and/or educational in nature. Before, during or after the session, the client is free to share as much or as little as he/she wishes of the process.
What is meant by the “Ministry of Touch: The Art of Anointing”? It is non-sexual bodywork or massage with a spiritual dimension to the process of getting in touch with oneself.
What is bodywork? It is a nurturing touch, which is one of the oldest methods of healing. A variety type of bodywork is offered.
These are:
· Swedish Esalen (with oil)
· Shiatsu (deep tissue release/acupressure, stretches)
· Reflexology
· Chair Massage (through clothes)
· Therapeutic touch (subtle touch/energy work)
· Cranio-sacral Therapy
Depending on the individual, one or more techniques may be used in one session.
A wholistic practitioner usually allows a two-hours session per client. Half of the time is spent as a listening ear, or as a spiritual companion on the journey. The other half is spent in applying the ministry of touch appropriate for the person. At the end, there is usually a ten-minute allowance to debrief the session if the client so wishes. There is no pressure on him/her to do so, however. All this takes place in the context of being loved by the Beloved.
Through the Ministry of Touch through clothes and the Art of Anointing with oil, the hope is to convey a listening presence of respect, of compassion and of unconditional love. Our hands are definitely an extension of our hearts. With hands the practitioner facilitates for the receiver, a spiritual experience of acceptance and of well-being as energies intertwine and dance together.
