Travel Coaches Selected for 2009

    Riverside Minor Baseball Association has 9 travel teams that play at the highest level (AAA) of caliber in the Ontario Baseball Association. There is one team for each age group from Rookie Ball Minor to Midget.  The year born and the head coach of each team are listed below. Most teams begin workouts in February or March. Their season runs from first week in May to Labour Day. They play league games in the Sun Parlour League throughout Essex County, attend 2-4 tournaments a year and some teams may participate in U.S. leagues. All except the Rookie Ball Minor team compete for the Ontario Championships on Labour Day weekend.

    All registered players will receive a call from the associated coach when they begin workouts in the gymnasiums. These workouts are free and we encourage all players to participate. The instruction, practice and experience will pay dividends during the year for those that make the team and for those wishing to play only House League. After a few workouts the coach will announce that tryouts are now beginning. If the travel program is not part of your interest then you can cease attending and wait for the house league coach to call. The House League program begins May 4th and concludes with the Day Of Champions on August 15th, 2009.

    Many long hours have been spent by these dedicated coaches to ready their respective teams for the challenging year ahead. RMBA competes in the Ontario Baseball Association at the highest level in the province, “AAA”. Last year was a very successful year as a Gold Medal (Bantam Minor) was captured in the provincial’s championships on Labour Day weekend.
