Pitching Clinic for Beginners

   From Jan. 28th through March 6th, 14 local baseball players attended a pitching clinic for first time pitchers.  The clinic ran 2 hours a week for 6 weeks and was conducted by experienced Riverside Mosquito coaches.  The players listened intently and worked on the mechanics of pitching.  Pitching from the stretch, proper throwing techniques, throwing a fast ball and throwing strikes were the main areas covered.  Along with mechanics, the mental aspect of pitching:  how to be in control, how to believe you can pitch and how to focus were covered.

    I believe these 14 individuals went away with a good knowledge of pitching and a desire to get out on the diamond and pitch!
