Jason
Bryans Elite Pitching
Clinic
Former
professional baseball player and current Major League scout,
Jason Bryans
ran a pitching clinic for 28 Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget players.
It consisted of two 4 hour sessions
for 14 players at a time. Proper warm up,
proper mechanics, throwing to location, knowing the count, throwing a change up, holding runners,
pick offs and fielding their position was covered. Jason was able to give
individual attention to each pitcher and give many suggestions on how to
improve their delivery and location. I believe everyone went away with
a better knowledge of pitching from an experienced former professional.
Jason Bryans, a Riverside Royals product, played for the Riverside Royals from
Tyke (Mosquito) to Midget. He received a scholarship and pitched for
Macomb Community College in Michigan. He was drafted in 1988 and signed in
1989 by the Kansas City Royals. He played 3 years in "A" ball in the
Kansas City organization before he suffered a career ending arm injury. He
became a scout and is currently the Canadian Scouting Supervisor for the Kansas
City Royals.
