This is Matthew Good and his band's second full length cd, they released a cd called Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts, and they also released a five song ep called Raygun. The Matthew Good Band got their first hit single with a song called Symbolistic White Walls which came from their first cd Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts, and ever since then it's been hit after hit for them. They released four singles from this cd Everything Is Automatic, Indestructable, Apparitions and Rico. Their first single from Underdogs was Everything Is Automatic, this song sounds an awful lot like a 54-40 song called One Day In Your Life, even the lyrics speak about the same things. Matthew's lyrics are often really well written and about things that people want to hear about. One of the highlights on this record is the song called My Out Of Style Is Coming Back, a song about growing up and not being very cool . The song starts off with a really great distorted bass line and a guitar that gets gradually louder. There aren't many songs not worth checking out on this cd but some definetly stand out more than others. There is a song out of the bunch that doesn't really fit with the rest of the cd, that song is Look Happy, It's The End Of The World, the beginning of it sounds like a punk song, but after the chorus kicks in it sounds like Matthew Good. Dave Genn the bands lead guitarist does some really interesting guitar work on the cd that often includes a lot of different guitar effects. The band is also backed up by a really good drummer.
