Description:

This is the first solo album by Moist frontman David Usher. David Usher is the lead singer of the popular band Moist. If your expecting a Moist record think again, this project is everything but Moist. This is a really mellow album with really poetic lyrics and a lot of really nice guitar parts. Right when you hear the first few seconds of Trickster you can hear what the theme will be on the rest of the album. St. Lawrence River is a really nice song with some really good guitar work on it. David got three singles out of this cd Forest Fire, Jesus Was My Girl and St. Lawrence River. Forest Fire is a song that really sounds like a song that The Philosopher Kings would write. The lyrics are often really sad, they get really anoying after a while because the fact he sings "fading away" and "fading" so many times you can't keep track. A lot of the guitar work sounds like old Leonard Cohen songs. The only song that really goes in a different approach is the last song "Mood Song". This cd is really repetitive but it is really easy to listen because the songs are so short, the songs end before you get sick of them.
