This is my site and I reserve the right to abbreviate and use colloquialisms as I feel fit. I was born in England so I usually use British spellings except when dealing with computers. Hence, colour is nearly always color, because that's the way it is in the code.
I have some training as a descriptive grammarian and deplore the mindless and uninformed use of prescriptive grammar that came to dominate communication during the last century. Huntin', fishin' and shootin' were pronounced with out the terminal g prior to the first world war. Since then generations of ill-informed school teachers have decreed words should be pronounced as they are spelt and managed to turn the clock back. Ain't that so.
