I was born in Liverpool, England in the first half of the last century. My working life has mostly been in various aspects of the construction industry. I enjoy the creative aspect of construction and especially the ability to take a job from inception to completion. This means keeping it small.
My interest in computers dates from 1980, the days of CP/M. I bought my first PC in '81 and was totally fascinated by programming. When I was 49, I started a BSc degree at Trent university and completed it three years later. Then I began a masters. I finished the course work for a masters but not the thesis. I'm not quite sure why. Since then, it has been all computers.
I was born in Liverpool England and have also lived in Macclesfield, London, Middlewitch. Conway, and Salford. After my parents died, I emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta in 1973. Since then I have lived in Pickering, Peterborough, and Windsor, all of which are in Ontario.
In Edmonton I enjoyed building my own house. This is not something you consider in England and fairly rare in Ontario, but quite common in Alberta.
I have been married once. It was a disaster, so we won't talk about that.
