The Windsor, Ontario Restaurants site is a commercial venture. I tentatively had a partner at the time the project was conceived. He was supposed to sell advertizing directly to the restaurants while I ran the website. However as the time to begin selling aproached he began to raise all sorts of insubstantial objections to the plan and, eventualy, he walked away from the scheme.
Not having a salesman, I then converted to Google AddSense, where Google provides the adds and gives me a very modest share of the revenue.
The Site was opened 22nd Febuary 2005 and adverts were added at the end of July. There was no revenue untill August and that barely covered the cost of the site. It is not a get rich scheme.
In August the site had over 1,000 unique viitors, most of them coming from the three major search engines. The growth of trafic month over month has aways been a double digit percentage. So the future holds promise.
Restaurants in Winsor are electic so there is an ethnic subdomain. So many places specilize in pizza that it also has its own subdomain
In 2006 the trafic to the site fell dramticaly with the increses in the number of conmpeting sites.
