Fundraiser for Krystal and Tanner
On Sunday the 27th of June 2004 the Riverside Knights of Columbus Council
4924 hosted a benefit dinner to raise funds for the family of two local
children, Krystal and her brother Tanner. The council was first approached
about a fundraiser by Karen Schweyer and Launa Codfree after Krystal and
Tanner were tragically struck by an SUV on Lauzon Road leaving both
children in hospital and their mother off work to care for them. A group
of brother Knights began planning a benefit dinner which was extremely
successful. More than 500 tickets were sold and several raffles held to
raise just over ten thousand dollars. We would like to thank all the
businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the raffles as well as
the many volunteers who assisted during the event.
Many thanks to all!
