For March 2003

Bro. Bill and Mary Harrison

Brother Bill and Mary were married in Windsor on April 29, 1978 at St. Joseph's Church. They have 2 children and 1 grandchild. Bill has been working as an owner operator driver for Laidlaw Carrier for the past 9 years. Before that, he drove 3 years for Just in Time. Mary has been a school bus driver for Shoreline for the past 20 years. Prior to that, she worked at Mclnnis in the Engineermg Department for 5 years.

FAMILY MEMBERS:

BILL JR (24) is a truck driver for Hearn's Logistic. He is a past squire. Bill was on the Riverside High School football team and liked to play baseball, soccer and hockey. He has also bowled with the 5 Pins Bowling League. A good swimmer, he became a Certified Life Guard and was also on the Riverside Aquatic Team. He majored in art and enjoys painting and working with clay. As a musician, he enjoys playing the drums as well as the saxophone, violin and guitar. Bill has been racing cars since an early age and is hoping to get into CASCAR racing.

CHRISTEL (20) has been working at the Garderie Franco-Sol for the past 3 '/2 years. She also works part-time as a bartender at the K. of C. hall and has served in the kitchen for the past 5 years. Christel has spent most of her spare time dancing. She participated in competitions for 14 years and went to Nationals 3 years then spent 3 years teaching dance. She also bowled in the 5 Pins Bowling League. Christel was involved in her school by putting on Christmas parties for the underprivileged children.

PARISH INVOLVEMENT:

The Harrison Family have been parishioners at St. Thomas the Apostle for the past 15 years. Brother Bill served 10 years as an alter server when he was a young boy. He was an usher at St. Theresa Church. As an engaged couple, Bill and Mary went through the Engaged Encounter which they really enjoyed.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

Brother Bill was Cub Leader and also coached baseball. He is a past member of the Dart League and the Bowling League in Tecumseh and Windsor. Bill spent many hours with his son at the race track working as a Crew Chief in the pits and as an advisor to his son. Bill enjoys spending time working on cars and trucks and as well as golfing with friends.

Mary followed her daughter to the dance competition and helped out by sewing the costumes, fundraising and assisting with recitals. Mary used to bowl in a league for Windsor and Tecumseh and is past member of the Dart League. She was also Secretary for the Malta United Society. She helped the Cubs by cooking and fundraising through garage sales as well as bottle/paper drives. Furthermore, she was a driver for the Canadian Blood Services for 1 year. Bill and Mary were also involved with the Block Parents and Neighbourhood Watch.

COUNCIL INVOLVEMENT:

Brother Bill became a member on October 1, 1978. For 6 years now, Bill as been a member of the 2nd. degree team and also volunteers his time if needed to the 1st. degree team. He has been involved with the meat draw for the past 5 years. He is also a bingo worker, sells car raffle tickets, helps with the family picnic, the Children's Christmas Party, Vegas Nights and the Building Corporation. Mary also help out this year with the Members Christmas Party and is a strong supporter of Bill in his work with the K. of C.

The membership of 4924 is delighted to have the Harrison's as Family of the Month for March 2003.
