I wrote it as a precursor to other games, a way to learn new technologies (GLUT, OpenGL, OpenAL, NSIS, ...), and to brush up on old ones (c, for that matter). Instead of just filling up rows with blocks, you need to form equations using the falling number and operator blocks in order to make the blocks disappear. It will give your brain an intense workout.
