Photo Project "Lake Baikal"

Introduction.

To keep any naturalist's paradise or unique water ecosystem pure and idyllic is quite simple: we shouldn't pollute it in the first place. Leaving traces of civilization and planned industrial development annihilates not only the pristine state of an ecological equilibrium, but also takes away from the ecosystem's natural energy itself and jeopardizes its future and the future of its people.

The objective of our project is to inspire and encourage to respect Lake Baikal 's unparallel beauty and to love it for what it is, for what it does and for how its existence is reflected in the lives of many people who have lived around the Lake for centuries...

Baikal has its own force and energy and it knows how to protect itself from the grip of time, and the only help it needs from us is not to interfere with its existence and let it be the way nature intended it to be: pure, juvenescent and thriving freshwater gem, aging in its isolation for millions of years. To love this “Galapagos of Russia ” is simple: we just have to try harder not to create immediate cause for its protection…
