Objectives

The objectives for which the Fort Malden Volunteer Association is incorporated are:

  • to preserve the unique historical heritage of Fort Malden National Historic Site by sponsoring programs and events that will increase public awareness of the site and of the Amherstburg area primarily as it relates to the military period.
  • to foster interest and pride in Canadian history.
  • to establish, operate, maintain, equip and direct a historical reenactment unit based primarily at Fort Malden National Historic Site as a historical and tourist attraction.
  • to conduct and promote historical and archaeological research with a view that the findings of such research would pass into the store of educational material for the benefit of the public.

Private on duty.

It is our intent to strengthen our partnership with the site through an increase in activities and volunteers, complementing the site in the development of their new marketing strategies.
