PROCESS STUDIES is a scholarly peer-reviewed,
refereed journal, the leading international journal in
its field. It is dedicated to the study of the thought
and wide-ranging implications of ALFRED NORTH WHITEHEAD
(1861-1947) and his intellectual associates, most notably
CHARLES E. HARTSHORNE (1897-2000), and others like WILLIAM
JAMES (1842-1910), CHARLES SANDERS PEIRCE (1839-1914) and
HENRI BERGSON (1859-1941). The mandate of PROCESS STUDIES,
in sum, is to explore Whiteheadian-Hartshornean process
thought at an advanced level and as it appears in related
philosophies and theologies (as noted above), applying
the Whiteheadian-Hartshornean conceptuality to a wide range
of other fields: Aesthetics, Biology, Cosmology, Economics,
Education Theory, Ethics, History of Religions, Literary
Criticism, Mathematics, Political Thought, Psychology,
Physics and other Natural Sciences, the Social Sciences,
Sociology, Psychology, Christian Theology, Eastern Religions,
and etc. Articles and Special focus sections have been
published in all of these areas.

PROCESS STUDIES
Submission Guidelines
For details, see PS
Guidelines on the Center for Process
Studies Homepage. Article Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced
in 12-point Times Roman font. Use endnotes, not footnotes,
and attach the notes in a separate file (rather than using
automatic notation). The endnotes should be minimal and,
following MLA style, endnotes should not contain merely page
references. Manuscripts are to be 6,000-8,000 words and sent
in MSWord (PC or MAC) to the Editor, Dr Barry Whitney, at Whitney@uwindsor.ca
Note also: Manuscripts
submitted to Process Sudies will be sent out by the editor
to 2 or 3 experts in the topic area in a double-blind assessment
process, assuming the editor's first assessment of the manuscripts
concludes that the manuscripts are appropriate in content
and style for more formal assessment in consideration for
publication. Submission of an article is taken to imply
that it has not previously been published in English and
is not being considered for publication by another journal
or as part of a book. Copyright is assigned to Process Studies
for published articles. Authors may use their own material
in other publications, provided that Process Studies provides
permission (through the editor) and the original place of
publication is acknowledged. Neither the editor nor the Process
Studies journal is responsible for every proposition expressed
in the journal and authors retain responsibility for any
defamatory or untruthful claim which they may make.
First
proofs of articles will be sent to the authors for a careful
proofing: only minor changes will be accepted at this stage:
corrections should be confined to typographical errors.
Manuscripts will not be returned by the editor. Authors of
manuscripts accepted for publication will receive three copies
of the issue in which their article is published.
The Editor encourages scholars to propose
Special Focus sections on a theme appropriate to Process
Studies. Normally, these special focus sections consist of
no more than 3 or 4 articles, all of which will be assessed
in the same manner as normal manuscripts and limited to 8,000
words each.
