Street Outreach

Street Outreach is based upon the harm reduction principles--to reduce the harm associated with drug use. Providing sex trade workers, bar patrons, bath house, strip bars and IDU clients with safer injection drug use and safer sex information, condoms, lube, dental dams, referrals, support, advocacy, basic medical care and education.

The strategy is to engage clients in their own environment to reduce marginalization and isolation. The IDU worker and needle exchange worker meet clients at bars, in their homes, coffee shops and fixed sites.

The IDU worker provides counseling and the needle exchange worker provides the needles and other supplies.
