This File Contains Instructions For The Following: WINDOWS 95 (A/B/C) WINDOWS 98 (SE) WINDOWS MILLENNIUM EDITION (ME) WINDOWS NT4 WINDOWS 2000 WINDOWS XP **WINDOWS 95** To determine the version of Windows95 you have installed on your computer, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Properties. On the General tab, look for the text under 'System:' at right and compare with the table below: Windows 95 4.00.950 Windows 95A 4.00.950A Windows 95B 4.00.1111 (4.00.950B) OR 4.03.1212-1214 (4.00.950B) Windows 95C 4.03.1214 (4.00.950C) **WINDOWS 95/95A** 1. When Windows 95 starts after the network card has been installed, the Hardware Wizard will detect it as a 'PCI Network Controller.' Select the 'Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer' option, and click Next. 2. The Install From Disk window will appear. Specify the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\Win95 (The default path that the 2020p_95.exe extracts to), or Browse to that directory and click OK. Click Next. 3. Windows will now install the drivers for the network card. During this process, you may be prompted for your Windows 95 CD-ROM (copy files from X:\Win95, where X refers to the letter of your CD-ROM Drive), or for the path of your .cab file store. 4. To complete the installation successfully, a restart is necessary after the drivers have been installed. Windows will not prompt you to do this, so you will need to restart the computer manually by clicking Start -> Shutdown, and selecting Restart. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem from Windows, simply click on Start -> Programs -> DW2020P ADSL Modem -> Un-installer, and restart your computer when prompted. When the Select Other Location window appears, enter the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\Win95 (The default path that the 2020p_95.exe extracts to), or Browse to that directory and click OK. Click Next. 4. The Update Device Driver Wizard will appear. Click Finish. 5. If an Insert Disk window appears, click OK. It will be followed by the Copying Files window; make sure that it's showing the driver path listed above, and click OK. If the Copying Files window asks for the Windows 95 CD specifically, you will have to adjust the 'Copy files from' path to X:\Win95 for the CD-ROM (Where X refers to the letter of your CD-ROM Drive), or to the path of your .cab file store on your hard drive. 6. When the computer is first turned on after the ADSL modem is installed, the Add New Hardware Wizard will appear with a 'PCI Network Controller.' When it does, click Next. 2. Allow Windows to 'Search for the best driver for your device,' and click Next. 3. Of the four listed options, ensure that only Specify a location is checked. Below that, enter the following path: C:\Drivers\DW2020P\Win98 (The default path that the 2020p_98.exe extracts to). Alternately, click Browse to find the specified directory, and click OK. Click Next. 4. Windows will find the appropriate drivers (DW2020P ADSL Modem); click Next to install them. You may be prompted for your Windows 98 CD-ROM, or for the path of your .cab file store. 5. Click Finish to complete the installation, and restart your computer when prompted. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem from Windows, simply click on Start -> Programs -> DW2020P ADSL Modem -> Un-installer, and restart your computer when prompted. **WINDOWS MILLENNIUM EDITION (ME)** 1. When the Add New Hardware Wizard appears, click Next. 2. Select 'Specify the location of the driver' and click Next. DO NOT allow Windows Me to perform an automatic search for the best drivers, as it mayinstall incorrect drivers from the Win2k directory. 3. Select 'Search for the best driver for your device,' and ensure that only 'Specify a location' is checked. Enter the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\WinMe (The default path that the 2020p_me.exe extracts to), or Browse to that directory and click OK. Click Next. 4. When the device name (DW2020P ADSL Modem) appears, click Next. Windows will now install the correct drivers for the modem. 5. Click Finish when prompted, and restart your computer to complete the installation. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem from Windows, simply click on Start -> Programs -> DW2020P ADSL Modem -> Un-installer, and restart your computer when prompted. WINDOWS NT4 1. After the DSL modem has been installed in the computer, be sure you're logging in with an account that has Administrative priviliges. 2. Once the computer has started, open the Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel) and double-click the Network icon. 3. Click on the Adapters tab; this screen will show you a list of the network adapters currently installed on your computer. Click Add. 4. Once the list of adapters is displayed in the Select Network Adapter window, click Have Disk. In the space provided, type in the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\WinNT (The default path that the 2020p_nt4.exe extracts to) and click OK. 5. Windows will detect the DW2020P ADSL Modem, and copy the necessary files before returning you to the Adapters tab. None of the properties for the DW2020P ADSL Modem needs to be changed; simply click Close. 6. As Windows updates the Network components, the TCP/IP Properties window will open to show the IP Address tab. Ensure that the DW2020P ADSL Modem is displayed under 'Adapter,' and enter an IP address which will not conflict with any existing Local Area Network configuration (suggested: 192.168.x.1, where x does not match an existing LAN address). The Subnet Mask should be set to 255.255.255.0, and the Default Gateway can be left blank. Click OK. 7. When prompted, click Yes to restart the computer and complete the installation. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem from Windows, simply click on Start -> Programs -> DW2020P ADSL Modem -> Un-installer, and restart your computer when prompted. WINDOWS 2000 (2k) 1. After the NIC has been installed in the computer, make sure you log into an account that has Administrator privileges. 2. Windows will detect a 'Network Controller.' Click Next on the first screen of the Hardware Installation Wizard. 3. Allow Windows to 'Search for a suitable driver for my device.' Click Next. 4. From the four options presented, only check Specify a location and click Next. 5. When prompted to 'Copy manufacturer's files from,' enter the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\Win2k (The default path that the 2020p_2k.exe extracts to), or Browse to that directory and click OK; then click Next. 6. If a message appears regarding the lack of a digital signature for the driver, simply click Yes to continue with the installation. 7. Click Finish when prompted to complete the installation. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem from Windows, simply click on Start -> Programs -> DW2020P ADSL Modem -> Un-installer, and restart your computer when prompted. WINDOWS XP 1. After the NIC has been installed in the computer, make sure you log into an account that has Administrator privileges. 2. A Found new harware wizard will appear. The wizard will help you install software for the 'Network Controller.' Select "Install from a list or specific location."Click Next on the first screen of the Hardware Installation Wizard. 3. Allow Windows to 'Search for a suitable driver for my device.' Click Next. 4. From the four options presented, only check Specify a location and click Next. 5. When prompted to 'Copy manufacturer's files from,' enter the path C:\Drivers\DW2020P\WinXP (The default path that the 2020p_xp.exe extracts to), or Browse to that directory and click OK; then click Next. 6. A message will appear, "The software you are installing for this hardware: 'ITeX ADSL PCI NIC'has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with WIndows XP. Click "Continue Anyway" to continue with the installation. 7. Click Finish when prompted to complete the installation. Uninstallation: Should you need to remove the DW2020P ADSL Modem (in Windows XP, the modem is called 'ITeX ADSL PCI NIC') from Windows, simply click on Start -> Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs. In 'Add Remove Programs',click on 'ITeX ADSL Software' and click on Remove. Click Yes to confirm and then restart your computer.
