Vignette showing our fireplace in the house on the lake.
The rocking chair was the most challenging miniature I made

Now it is using a computer and designing web pages
and dealing with a declining memory
now living in a retirement complex in this Town house

Due to age, short term memory, health and no immediate family
my son Steve who had retired and moved to B.C. insisted we move
to live near him so that he and his wife could take care of us.

Move to Kaslo a disaster. Despite a perfect house that we purchased the location
was totally unsuitable for seniors such as us.
All roads leading out of Kaslo presented a hazard particularly in winter. Medical service especially for specialist was far too remote.
Groceries were 15% to 30% more expensive.  The nearest large shopping center was
40 miles away
After 2 months we made the decision to return the Wheatley, where we had to rent
a cottage, arranging to have our furniture delivered to Amy my granddaughter and
stored in  their basement pending the purchase of another house.
On December 16 2005 we will be moving into 34 Churchil road in Leamington two
streets away from the hospital.
The whole experience cost us over $20000.

  • Our stay at above was cut short due to health and age making us no longer physically capable to perform the required maintenance.
